We are now embarking upon a new point in your classes and if my friend Ruburt will allow me you shall have at times another teacher for I shall step in now and then to provide my own demonstrations. It goes without saying that certain conditions must be indeed be met. Circumstances must be beneficial. Any words of mine will always be spoken to quicken your own education for as I have said often, I am an educator and that is my main purpose and my purpose in this class. If any demonstrations occur they will occur only when the moment is right, and they will happen as a side issue to demonstrate certain points which should be made. I will try to give you information that I know you want to have, but at times I will also give you information that you may not wish to have.

This does not mean that the demonstration serves no purpose, for all of my demonstrations serve a purpose and this one is to show that there is indeed a vitality that lives beyond the grave and that there is joy, and the personality continues to exist for this most willing and friendly associative man can permit me to speak in the most fearless and carefree tones. For this is hardly the end and I am here to tell you it is quite possible for me to continue on such a demonstration until your very eardrums will plead to me for mercy. However, I shall not do so.

Dictation: Any good demonstration of hypnosis will clearly show that the point of power is in the present, and that beliefs dictate your experience.

Now: In the demonstration in which Joseph so kindly assisted us, several points were made to implement the material just given.

Now: You also drew upon some knowledge, Joseph, from past experience in our demonstration, when in your final illness motor function was impaired. [...]

[...] Then, to end this part of the demonstration, Seth had Jane place her hands side by side so that we could plainly see the difference between the two. [...]

[...] Often Seth remarked upon our rather childish desire for demonstrations; yet when I asked him if he would rather we refrained from such requests in the future, he said he understood the desire, that it was natural, and that if he felt like it he would comply.

I suppose I should consider myself lucky that you don’t request a demonstration of the tree to grow up through your living room. You will have to forgive me but I am not really irritated, dear friends, with this desire for demonstrations. [...]

[...] But if other demonstrations should follow at least go along with me, as you certainly can.

[...] The walls are truly transparent to me though I am not sure I would perform, dear Joseph, and Ruburt, for a party demonstration.

I would not be surprised if you wondered about the part that suggestion might play in such a demonstration. I spoke of a demonstration without mentioning what sort of a demonstration. [...]

(Time may show that this session is one of the most significant to date, as far as demonstrations of the authenticity of the Seth Material are concerned. [...]

It is to demonstrate that you have the same vitality within yourself, and if I have this vitality and I do not have a body, then how much vitality do you have that you should be using that you are not using. It is to demonstrate that you are no more physical than I am, and it is also to demonstrate that consciousness is a joyful and a vital thing. [...]

[...] And as I have said time and time again—such demonstrations should show you, since they are coming through Ruburt, that this energy is a portion of the energy that is your own—you have as much energy as I have—you have as much energy available to you as Ruburt has available to him. [...]

[...] Those motions are still mostly with her, as she demonstrated today. [...]

[...] The improvements noted yesterday and today show the body’s abilities, and demonstrate its own intent toward greater movement and flexibility.

[...] We found it hard to like him subjectively, even while dismissing these demonstrations.

In the light of this discussion, now, that self was as unrealistic at its end of the spectrum as the Sinful Self was at the other, for Ruburt felt that he was supposed to demonstrate a certain kind of superhuman feat, not only managing on occasion to uncover glimpses of man’s greater abilities, but to demonstrate these competently at the drop of a hat, willingly at the request of others. [...] Ruburt therefore encountered newer bouts of symptoms that effectively demonstrated and mirrored the feeling of lack of mobility. [...]

[...] I would like to suggest an experiment and I am suggesting it to you to see your reaction, like I couldn’t. I was really undecided whether to suggest it to Jane or to you, but you see like I’m kind of at an impasse because, like, there are a lot of words and a lot of concepts and philosophies bandied about, but when you make a claim you know such as that in as specific and nonconfusable terms such as that it would be very simple to demonstrate, and what I was wondering is, either now or at some time when Jane would agree to it, for instance, I brought some playing cards with me, ten cards...”)

[...] When I follow through with such demonstrations, I will do so not in the confines of this room and not under conditions set by you, but in a situation in which the claims are clearly recorded with the results in which there is no possibility that anyone will say suggestion is involved; in which no one will be able to say that scientific principles were not clearly set upon and not to satisfy your curiosity! [...] Whenever evidential material has been given, my dear friend, and it has been given to help others deal with a problem that was of vital interest, it has not been given as a demonstration, and it has not been given to prove anything to anyone. [...]

I do not consider these small helpful hints of future events to be the sort of demonstration which in certain circumstances could annoy me. And any annoyance that I do feel is merely with the impatience that requests for demonstrations may hide.
